It's the Little Things... like glitter!

It was Homemade Playdough Day in Matamoros world. :)

Max loves to help us "cook" and LOVES playing with playdough, so we put his mad-skills to work today.

And since I live in a boy-world (full of bugs and dirt and snakes and cars and trucks), I adapted this particular recipe to give it a little Chelsea (girly)-flair, and thus, we created scented glitter playdough. (Yes you read correctly- since we had finally stopped finding that doggone green plastic Easter grass in the carpet... I thought we could move on to finding glitter everywhere. ;) )

Isn't it pretty?!
Did you say glitter scented playdough, Mama?!?! :)

Girl-playdough or not, Max LOVED both the creating of his playdough and the playing with of his playdough. See below:

The ingredients:

1 cup flour, 1 cup water, 1/4 cup salt, 1 TBSP veg oil, 2 tsp cream of tartar, glitter, Kool-Aid (to make it smell yummy)

We threw all the ingredients (minus the Kool-Aid and glitter) into a bowl and did Max's favorite cooking activity: MIXING.

That boy can MIX! :)
So happy to be helping in the kitchen!

Next we separated out our mixture and added fun Kool-Aid colors and LOTS of glitter.

Last of all (this was a Mama job), the mixture was heated up on the stove, and I stirred like crazy until we magically had scented glitter playdough. :)

Homemade playdough is even better than the store-bought stuff!

Playdough makes us happy!!

And no afternoon is complete without a little music to grooooooove to. Lately, Max has become quite the lyricist. He loves to make up his own, original songs. This week, he's been singing a lot about his new potty skills. :)

Potty songs? Whatever it takes, little man!!
